On the occasion of The World Book Day 2023, I envision books to be the only unblemished cloud in the very dark horizon. They peep through my imperfect day, radiating timeless knowledge and words of wisdom.           

As rightly said ‘Books are a man’s best friend’

they seamlessly blend

Like a soothing balm to our emotions

Residesin somewith devotion

Fills our void with unimaginable knowledge, creativity and expression

Embeddinga path ofreflection

Invigorating magic of words

Sometimesit cuts across like a sword.

Spills its pearls of wisdom

Beckons us on the pathof freedom

Invokes myriad thoughts, compel us to see life positively effulgent

Nowhere has it seemed to discourage us for being indulgent

When darkness engulfs, it trudges us on road to enlightment

Mould us to be more tolerant

From magical world of J K Rowling to diasporic writer Salman Rushdie

All have something to say

Avid readers moment of comfort curls up in a corner with a book every day

Trust the reader, books never leaves us benighted

They are an eternal guide and keep the flame of rationality ignited.
