Why is there a need for sisterhood? I ask
Do matters of the heart need to fight the false hood?
In life’s rugged terrain
With incessant trials laid
At various junctures
Spirits get thwarted
Mistakes committed once
Are put on a pedestal of ignorance
No mulligan, no second chance
Lest forget assurance
The mocking by the Patriarchy
The towering mess of gender discrimination
Isn’t it wobbled down upon our necks
Sometimes elevated
To keep us in check
We escape the weft and warp
Of expectations
To be drowned in the abyss
Of extrapolation
Amidst theturmoil
One seeks heart full of compassion
Tomakeus fuller
Sisterhood symphony plays a flute
Weaves its own Whimsical stories
A shoulder to cry on
Unburden the weight of emotions that sometimes
seem abstruse
Sisterhood acts as a recluse
The solicitouscommunity ofsisterhood
Imbuesstrength
To gather the fragments of life
Lying scattered in the disheveled nest
It finds patient listeners
Full of wisdom and understanding
Is it to liberate us of the challenging times?
Yes! Like a breath of fresh air
Sorting tapestries of unresolved affairs
The warm embrace of sisterhood
Calms the storm of doubt
In its quiet sanctuary laughter echoes
Making happy memories with shared jokes
Why not nurture this sisterhood in
schools, colleges, offices and in our everyday lives
for our own good?
Ad infinitum, tie of bond
An unwavering allegiance
Exuberating immense radiance
As my inner voice echoes
Help woman in distress!!
Whyrefuseto support another?
Let unity thrive
In Sisterhood’s meadow!
